Create the Wicked Witch Legs

Step 1: Cut the Noodle in Half

Measure the length of the pool noodle to create your wicked witch legs. Mark the halfway point with a permanent marker. Use a stout, serrated knife to cut the pool noodle in half.

Step 2: Measure and Cut to Make Feet

Place one of the red slippers next to the end of one of the noodles. This will show you how much of the noodle should become a foot to fit nicely into the red slipper. Indicate that point with the marker.

Use the knife to split the noodle in half to the point you just marked. Position the knife on the mark perpendicular to the noodle, and slice halfway through the noodle vertically to intersect the two cuts, creating a cutout. Remove the cutout from the noodle and discard it. Make a mark across the noodle at this point.

Step 3: Create a Matching Set

Repeat for the other noodle to create a pair of feet for the wicked witch legs.

Step 4: Give the Noodles Some Ankles

Put your knife on the mark and slice downward to make a vertical cut nearly all the way through the rest of the noodle material to give the leg a moveable ankle. This will allow the foot to flex in a semi-lifelike manner.
This is the final adjustment to make in order for the feet to fit into the slippers.

Add the Socks and Shoes

Step 1: Pull on the Socks

Bend the noodle's ankle and gently pull a striped wicked witch sock over the noodle's foot. Make sure that the flat side of the noodle is facing downward, forming the sole of the foot. Shimmy the sock up over the noodle's foot, ankle and calf. Adjust it as necessary so that the stripes aren't crooked or sloppy. Repeat for the other leg.

Step 3: Cut and Roll the Tape

Cut a couple of pieces of duct tape about 4 to 6 inches long. Make rolls with the tape, with the sticky side of the tape on the outside of the roll.

Step 4: Put Tape On the Legs

Stick a tape roll firmly on the top of each of the witch's legs. The tape will allow you to secure the legs to a solid object, such as the side of your house. This will also help prevent the legs from rolling, or from blowing away in a stiff breeze.

Tip

It may be difficult to find "red slippers" in retail establishments. Create your own with some low-heeled thrift store pumps and glossy or glittered red spray paint. If you feel like being really fancy about it, glue some red sequins to the painted red shoes for some glitz and glamour.
