Using a bed sheet to make a banner is an easy way to get a large banner. Twin sheets are perfect for carrying, because they don't drag on the ground. If you plan to hang the sheet above the ground, go with a queen or king size for maximum effect. Promote a business, sports team or charity cause by making a banner from an old sheet. You can make the banner quickly, but allow enough drying time before hanging.
Step 1
Lay the sheet on a flat surface. A floor or driveway works well for this project because of the size of the sheet.

Step 2
Trace the outline of your letters, images or designs on the sheet with a piece of chalk. This gives you a rough outline, but is easy to wash off, as well. If you are using a light colored sheet, you can also use a pencil.
Step 3
Paint the designs and words using a paintbrush. Take your time so it looks neat and clean. Acrylic paint works well. Spray paint also works, but it looks more like graffiti as opposed to neat lines.
Step 4
Allow the paint to dry before moving the bed sheet.
Step 5
Carry the banner by the top two corners. You can also fold down the top 4 to 6 inches and sew a pocket; slide a strong dowel through to carry it. This works well if you are going to walk while carrying the banner. If hanging the banner from a chain link fence at a sporting event, cut two holes, one in each top corner of the banner. Slide a zip tie through the holes and attach to the fence.
Tip
If you don't have paint, simply write words and designs using duct tape.
