  • Toothpick

A homemade, natural paste allows you to wear a bindi more than once.

Bindis are beautiful jewels that are worn at the center of the forehead. These accessories are a classic Indian fashion and come in a variety of sizes and colors. They also come prepackaged with a small amount of adhesive for use on the skin. However, this adhesive is only good for a single use. For bindis that you hope to wear more than once, a homemade paste can be concocted that is safe, natural and cheap. You will only need a small bit to keep the bindi in place.

Step 1

Measure out about 1/2 tsp. of white sugar into a small paper cup. Add a small drizzle of honey and a drop of nontoxic white glue.

Step 2

Stir these ingredients together gently using a wooden Popsicle stick. Add about 2 or 3 tbsp. of water as you stir together the ingredients. Only add enough water to dilute the thickness of the honey and to dissolve the sugar. Mix until all of the ingredients have blended and are smooth.

Step 3

Dip the tip of a toothpick into the paste and place on the back of the bindi. Create a thin, even layer of paste. Press the bindi onto your forehead and hold in place for about 10 seconds.

Tip

Make the paste on the day you plan to use it.
