Work quickly and you can save scorched clothing.

To iron polyester you need to use a low heat setting. However, even the most diligent of homemakers can scorch or melt polyester. Scorched or discolored polyester is fixable. If the polyester melts and becomes shiny or hard, the fabric cannot be repaired. You can fix old scorch marks, but it is best to fix any scorch marks as soon as they happen to prevent permanent discoloration.
