Wood stain will make your car's finish look worn out.

If you accidentally get an oil based wood stain onto your car's paint job, you should wipe it off as quickly as possible. However, if left to dry, you can still remove it with a little hard work. Your car has a protective finish called a "clear coat," so the paint does not actually touch the wood stain. You can buff the stain off the clear coat and restore the finish in a matter of minutes.

Step 2

Apply a small amount of swirl remover to a bunched up microfiber rag, then apply the swirl remover to the surface of the wood stain. Use small, circular motions to loosen the stain. Swirl remover has a small amount of abrasive to help remove any micro scratches in the clear coat. Apply additional swirl remover to clean parts of the microfiber rag and keep buffing until you remove the stain.

Step 3

Apply a small amount of automotive wax paste to a bunched up microfiber rag, then apply the wax to the surface of the paint. Wait for the wax to dry.

Step 4

Buff the wax off with a clean microfiber rag.
