How to Hide Pipes Under a Hanging Bathroom Sink

Rusty old plumbing left exposed under your bathroom sink can ruin the appearance of your bathroom. While some sinks come with a cabinet built in that hides the pipes, models like pedestal sinks, and ones that mount directly to the wall, leave the plumbing visible. Hide the pipes by installing a sink skirt, which also gives you a bit of extra hidden storage space.

Step 2

Spread a bed sheet onto a flat surface and measure from the hemmed edge to the height of the sink basin top from your measurements in Step 1. Draw a horizontal straight line at this measurement across the sheet with fabric chalk. Cut across the line with scissors.

Step 3

Keep the cut piece spread flat; lay the measuring tape flat across the top and mark the measurement of the sink circumference. Draw a vertical line at that point and cut.

Step 4

Cut two strips of iron-on hem tape in the lengths of both cut edges and iron into place to serve as the hem.

Step 5

Line up one side of industrial-strength hook-and-loop tape along the edge of the sink basin. Peel the paper backing away to expose the adhesive and press into place.

Step 6

Install the other side of the hook-and-loop tape around the top of the sink skirt. Attach it in place around the sink to hide the pipes.
