Step 1

Combine sangria ingredients (everything from the red wine through the sugar) in a large glass punch bowl. Make sure the bowl is small enough to fit inside the cauldron without showing. Refrigerate sangria for 1-2 days to extract all the ingredient flavors.

Step 2

When you are ready to serve, gather 4-6 pounds of dry ice. Dry ice can be found at supermarkets, ice cream stores and party supplies stores.

Step 3

Place punch bowl inside cauldron. Break up dry ice blocks into large chunks and place inside the cauldron around the punch bowl.

Step 4

To create smoking effect, pour hot water onto the dry ice, being careful not to fill the punch bowl. Continue adding more dry ice and hot water to cauldron as needed. Enjoy!

Warning

  1. Dry ice will burn your skin! Always use thick gloves or tongs when handling.

  2. Dry ice produces carbon dioxide. Make sure to place your cauldron in a well-ventilated area. Too much CO2 can be toxic!
