Things You'll Need

  • Paper towels

  • Plastic sheet or aluminum foil

  • Carpet or upholstery cleaner

Nature's Miracle Stain & Odor Remover is a brand of enzyme-based cleaner that guarantees permanent removal of stains and odors. It is a staple to some pet owners because it can remove pet urine from carpet and upholstery. Use it to remove any organic matter, such as food, dirt and bodily fluids, and test its suitability for your home when housebreaking a puppy or kitten. Nature's Miracle can be used on both old and new stains.

Step 2

Apply pressure to the towel by leaning into it with an open palm. Set books or heavy materials onto the towel if the liquid is on thick carpet to absorb as much liquid as possible.

Step 3

Saturate the soiled area with Nature's Miracle. The instructions recommend 1 pt. of cleaner for a 2-foot-square area or 1 gallon for 9 square feet. Use more for thick carpet and padding, and apply it liberally so that the carpet or upholstery feels soaked to the touch.

Step 4

Cover the saturated area with a plastic sheet or aluminum foil for 24 to 48 hours. This prevents drying of the enzyme cleaner.

Step 5

Uncover the area and allow it to dry naturally. Drying time will vary but could be as long as two weeks. Nature's Miracle discourages use of a fan or heat source on the wet area.

Step 6

Repeat the process if the odor or stain persists.

Step 7

Clean the area with regular carpet or upholstery cleaner, and follow its specific instructions.

Tip

Use Nature’s Miracle on hard surfaces, too, but test an inconspicuous area beforehand.

Warning

Test carpet or upholstery for colorfastness.
