Saucepan
Glass jar and lid
1/2 cup wheat flour (not self-rising)
1/4 cup powdered resin glue
1/2 cup warm water
1 1/2 cups hot water
4 drops of cinnamon oil
Resin papier-mache paste lends a hard finish to papier-mache projects. The paste especially suits the creation of large papier-mache crafts, such as furniture, bowls or wall art. Your kids will enjoy making resin papier-mache paste as much as they will enjoy using it for their crafts. This recipe makes about 1 pint of resin papier-mache paste.
Step 1
Mix the flour and resin glue in a saucepan.

Add 1/2 cup of warm water to make a paste, mixing well.
Step 3
Add the hot water while stirring vigorously to prevent lumps.
Step 4
Cook over low heat, stirring constantly, until the mixture is thick, clear and smooth.
Step 5
Add the cinnamon oil to act as a preservative. If you are using the resin papier-mache paste immediately, you do not need the cinnamon oil.
Step 6
Store the papier-mache paste in a covered glass jar. The paste will keep for several weeks if you added the cinnamon oil. Do not refrigerate.
