How to Disassemble a Lazy Susan

A lazy Susan uses a rotating bearing to allow one pieces of material to rotate on top of another. A lazy Susan displays more items than a standard fixed shelf and increases the storage capacity of corner-mounted cabinets. Since the lazy Susan bearing rests between the two pieces of material, access to the screws holding the bearing to the material is limited. Disassembling a lazy Susan requires a straightforward approach and a little searching.

Set the lazy Susan base up on a firm surface at a comfortable working height.

Step 3

Remove the screws from the top piece of material. Turn the base to align the large hole drilled through the base material until you find a screw. Slide the tip of a Phillips screwdriver through the hole. Turn the screwdriver counterclockwise to loosen the screw holding the bearing to the top piece of material. Rotate the base, removing the bearing mounting screws as they are exposed.
