Things You'll Need

  • Brown paper bag

  • Scissors

  • Hairdryer

  • Soft cloth (2)

  • White vinegar

  • Towel

Candle wax should be removed as soon as possible.

Candles can set a cozy, romantic mood or fill your home with a pleasant aroma. When using candles, care must be taken where you place them. The wax that is produced from the candle may drip, drop or splatter onto surfaces. Placing lighted candles on speakers can create a messy situation. The wax dries fast and will adhere quickly to fabric and wood, making removal difficult but not impossible.

Step 2

Lay the speaker down flat so that the area with the candle wax is facing up.

Step 3

Cut a brown paper bag along the seams so you have a flat piece of brown paper.

Step 4

Place the flat brown paper bag directly on top of the wax.

Step 5

Rub the preheated iron over the paper bag for several passes. The heat from the iron will warm the candle wax and the brown paper bag will absorb it. Do not let the iron plate touch the speaker's fabric.

Step 6

Examine the paper bag. When a dark spot appears, reposition the paper bag so a clean area is over the wax. Continue rubbing the paper bag with the iron until all wax is removed from the speaker fabric.
