The Maytag Neptune dryer is an electric dryer that features a touch-key control panel and includes a control dial. It also features a filter compartment built into the dryer door. As with other dryer brands and models, the Maytag Neptune requires no special cleaning beyond general dusting and stain removal and lint removal from the lint filter before and after each load of laundry and from the dryer vent pipe to prevent lint-related fires.

Vent Lint Removal

Step 1

Unplug your Neptune once every three months or more often if you've noticed that the dryer takes longer to dry laundry. Pull the dryer away from the wall. If your electrical plug is behind the dryer, reverse the outlined actions.

Step 3

Re-attach the vent pipe, return the dryer to its original position and plug it back in.

Step 4

Hire a professional Maytag or general dryer technician once a year to clean the dryer housing interior of lint to prevent fires. If you have a long dryer vent, also have the technician clean the vent for you.

Warning

Never clean your Maytag Neptune with harsh chemicals. Never saturate a cloth to clean the control panel. If moisture drips beneath the panel, damage or malfunction can result.
