Fried turkey requires an appropriate fryer.

Fried foods are popular, and fried turkey is one of them. The Charmglow turkey fryer is designed to fry turkey safely, which is larger than the typical fried food. The Charmglow turkey fryer has a capacity of 28 quarts, making it large enough for the average turkey. The fryer has a lid to prevent splattering oil and is safe for indoor or outdoor use as long as a plug is available.

Step 1

Determine the oil line for the turkey. When using any turkey fryer, it is important to always find out the appropriate oil line. Find the oil line by placing the turkey into the fryer in an upright position. Fill the fryer with water until the turkey is covered and has 1 extra inch or so of water. Remove the turkey and mark the water level with a non-toxic marker.

Step 2

Pour out the water and fill up the oil to the mark. Every turkey should have a slightly different amount of oil, depending on the turkey size.

Step 3

Carefully place the turkey into the fryer so that it slides down into the oil slowly and put the lid down to prevent splattering oil.

Step 4

Plug in the Charmglow fryer. Charmglow turkey fryers are electronic fryers. Plug it in and allow the oil to heat up to 350 degrees Fahrenheit. (The thermostat on the lid will state when the fryer reaches 350 degrees.) Allow a cooking time of about 3.5 minutes for everyone 1 lb. of turkey.
