Things You'll Need

  • Reclosable bag

  • Dried-out glue stick

  • Wet paper towel

Glue sticks take away the mess during craft time.

Glue sticks are rollable sticks of glue that are safe enough to use on photographs and limit the mess of doing craft projects with kids. When the cap is left off of a glue stick, however, it tends to dry out and you can no longer use it. Before dumping your dried-out glue sticks in the trash, there is a method to help restore your glue sticks back to their original state so they can be used for future craft projects.

Step 2

Place the glue stick in the reclosable bag. Add more dried-out glue sticks if there are more than one.

Step 3

Place a wet paper towel inside the reclosable bag. Ensure that the paper towel is not dripping wet, but not too damp either.

Step 4

Seal the reclosable bag and allow it to rest overnight or for at least 8 hours. Remove the dried-out glue sticks from the bag and test them out. Replace the caps once the glue sticks are fully reconstituted.
