  • Acetone nail polish remover

  • Dish soap

Clean nail polish from your dryer so it doesn't spread to your laundry.

Try as you might, sometimes things get through the laundry that you try to avoid. So if you somehow managed to let nail polish slip through to the dryer, you might have quite a mess on your hands. Although it might look impossible to remove, you can get nail polish off of your dryer drum quickly. Nail polish on the inside of your dryer must be removed promptly so it doesn't transfer to other loads of laundry.

Step 1

Let the dryer cool down if you've just used it. Your dryer gets very hot on the inside, and this will prevent injury.

Moisten a soft cloth with acetone nail polish remover. Rub over the nail polish spots with the rag. Switch to a clean part of the rag frequently and apply more nail polish remover as needed until all of the nail polish is off.

Step 3

Wipe out the inside of the dryer with a rag and warm, soapy water to remove any residue. Leave the dryer door open for a few hours to let any fumes from the nail polish remover dissipate.
