Water Canister

Video of the Day

Unlike traditional vacuum cleaners that utilize bags to capture dust and filter the air, Rainbow vacuum cleaners use a water canister to trap dirt and help filter the air. The Rainbow website claims that by using a water canister, dirt is actively pulled into the canister and the air is water-filtered before being re-distributed back into the room. When activated, the water is moved in a circular manner to suck air and debris into it for filtration. When the filtered air is pushed back into the room, it passes through a HEPA filter for further filtration. After the water is dirtied, it is manually emptied through the exit port into a drain. The company states the water canister and HEPA filter remove 99.997 percent of household dirt from the carpet and air.

Motor

The Rainbow vacuum cleaner is powered by a motor dubbed the "hurricane" by the company. This 12-amp motor is among the most powerful on the 2010 vacuum cleaner market, and since it does not use carbon brushes, the vacuum will not distribute microscopic carbon particles into the air. The motor features two speeds, which are accessible on the control panel located on top of the main unit.

Power Brush

The power brush located on the underside of the cleaning nozzle is designed to be used on a wide variety of floor types. The height of the nozzle is adjusted by a switch on the nozzle to clean thick carpeting or turned off for bare hardwood floors. The Rainbow company states the soft design of the nozzle brushes can add years to carpet life. By adjusting the height of the power brush, the vacuum cleaner is able to clean surface level debris as well as debris resting near carpet baseboards.
